As the final school year of the UpLift Partnership came to a close, we gathered youth and adult champions from across the province to share learnings and celebrate our many successes. We built on the momentum of the last six years, and continued to energize the Health Promoting Schools (HPS) network across the province as it builds healthy school communities.
Over 200 people participated in person and online across the province from Nova Scotia Health, Education, community groups, and schools from the Annapolis Valley and South Shore Regional Centres for Education. More than 50 elementary, junior high, and high school students attended and shared the stories from their UpLift/HPS projects.
Students and youth were celebrated for the impact they’ve created across the province. They shared their experiences, learnings, challenges, and what systemic structures they would like to see shifted in order to continue centering youth voices within their schools.
